Ayad Rahmaniis an Associate Professor of Architecture at Washington State University where he teaches courses in design and theory. He is the author of two books on architectural ideas and a third in progress on Frank Lloyd Wright and Ralph Waldo Emerson. He writes a monthly column for the Moscow Pullman Daily News, exploring issues related to architecture, planning and urban culture. Among other values, he treasures community as a vehicle with which to connect people, institutions and ideas, including those centered around education and social life. When not teaching, writing or practicing architecture he likes to paint, go on long bike rides and travel.
