Enrollment

PCM is a public charter school (tuition-free, not for profit, open enrollment) accessible to all age-appropriate Washington resident students. PCM is open to any student regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religious affiliation, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, social or economic status, and/or special needs. ALL enrolled students regardless of background are afforded the same rights, privileges, programs, and activities available to all students. PCM provides support services, common to any public schools, in order to meet the needs of ALL students. These services include special education, 504 plans, English Language Learner programs, and highly capable programming.

Pursuant to Washington State law, PCM may not limit admission on any basis other than age, grade level, or enrollment capacity in a grade level and must enroll all students who apply within these parameters.  PCM also upholds the state wide sibling preference.

If capacity within a grade level is insufficient to enroll all students who apply, enrollment will be determined by an open public lottery.  Following the lottery, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.  Applicants will be placed into open seats, or on the waiting list if not seats are onpe, on a first applied basis.

PCM requested weighted lottery preferences to improve access for economically disadvantaged students and to ease the burden and logistics for full-time staff with qualified kids.  This request was made to the Washington State Charter School Commission and was granted.

Open enrollment at PCM begins in November and closes in March for each school year. While our application platform is easy to use, we would be happy to support you by completing the application for you over the phone.  For support please call (509) 336-5909 or email Enrollment@mypcm.org .

PCM currently serves kindergarten through grade 7 students in the Gladish Community and Cultural Center. Our program will expand a grade level each year following. At capacity, PCM will serve students in kindergarten through grade 9. PCM has established a robust transition support plan that will begin at the end of grade 8 to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the students high school of choice at the end of grade 9.
