Common Enrollment Questions

What happens if PCM does not need to run a lottery, how will students continue to enroll?

If capacity is not reached by the Application deadline, students will be enrolled to the school on a rolling basis. If and when the number of students surpasses the number of seats, students that submit an application after capacity is reached will be added to a waitlist in the order that the school receives their application.

My child is advanced, will PCM be able to challenge them?

YES. The beauty of a well executed mixed-age model and personalized programming means we can meet each student where they are and help them grow from there. Advanced students are supported to continue to grow academically and life skills wise. Disparities between students abilities are less apparent in a Montessori classroom because everyone has their own personalized plan and is encouraged, challenged, and supported by the work they experience through engaging with their mixed-age peers.

Will PCM serve students with advanced needs?

YES. As a public school PCM seeks to serve all students. The Montessori model is particularly well poised to deliver services to students with advanced need. PCM is also staffed with a full time Special Education Teacher that will direct our need for additional services and will work with all PCM staff to ensure they receive the training and support to serve our student population.

Does PCM charge tuition?

NO. PCM is a public school. Funding in WA follows the student so PCM receives funding similar to other public schools.

Does PCM have a sibling enrollment preference?

YES. As required by Washington State law, the school will give an enrollment preference to siblings of already enrolled students.

How will I know if my child has been accepted?

After the lottery is complete, all parents will be notified of the results by 5:00 PM March 10, 2022. Notifications will be sent through Transparent Classroom. After parents have been notified their student has a seat in the school, they will have until 5:00 PM on March 15, 2021 to submit an Intent to Enroll form. Between March 10 and March 15, PCM will attempt to verify personally with each parent, by phone or at home, if they intend to accept a seat at the school and encourage them to submit their Intent to Enroll form by the deadline. If PCM is unsuccessful in contacting the family for verification, the family will then give up the seat and be placed on the waitlist.
