Expanding windows of opportunity through personalized place-based Montessori education.

PULLMAN, WA – The Pullman Charter School Initiative (PCSI) is pleased to announce the results of its recent poll to name the planned-for new charter school. Votes and suggestions were accepted through an online poll and in-person at the National Lentil Festival. The school, with an anticipated opening date of August 2021, beginning with grades K-5th expanding to 8th, will be named Pullman Community Montessori (PCM). A majority of voters wanted to see Pullman in the name, because that describes the location and Pullman pride. Many others wanted to see Community in the name to reflect the larger Pullman community, including Albion, and that community input would be a cornerstone of the new school. The school will also be based on the Montessori model of education, so many voters thought that this, too, should be reflected in the name.

Pullman Community Montessori, if the charter is approved, will open its doors in August 2021. As an approved charter school, students attending the school will attend free of any tuition or enrollment restrictions ensuring it is accessible to all. If interest in enrollment exceeds capacity, enrollment will be decided based on a lottery system like traditional public schools. To keep informed of our progress towards opening a charter school and dates for public forums, check us out on Facebook - fb.me/PullmanCommunityMontessori and/or email pullmancharter@gmail.com. A website will be launching soon.
